Possibility of porting the Maple libraries for the TI Stellaris EVALBOT?

I finally received my TI Stellaris EVALBOT when I ordered it in october last year after I saw a HaD article about a coupon giving $125 off a normally $150 kit (see Link: http://hackaday.com/2010/10/04/125-off-the-evalbot-is-a-steal/ ) and I had a similar thought when I ordered it that it might be possible to port the Maple libaries to the EVALBOT (It uses a TI LM3S9B92 ARM processor) without too much hassle (although I haven't worked with 'raw' ARM processors before, so far it's either been via an OS (I have a 200MHz ARM NAS) or via Maple.

What are other people's thoughts on this?

if the stellaris toolchain uses gcc-arm, it shouldn't be too tricky, though the memory map of the stellaris will probably differ from the stm32, so that could be a bit of a headache.. nothing a little busy work with the datasheets won't cure though..

your biggest hurdle might be finding others willing to help out, since, afaik, the stellaris still hasn't hit full production yet. (so much for 4Q2010)

i would be interested in trying it out, though.. i think one of my local hackerspaces has some of the chips / dev boards.

AFAIK, those Stellaris processors are exactly Cortex-M3, so the GCC toolchain, which generates Thumb-2 code, will work.

I would expect Maple (STM32F103) to Stellaris to be less effort than Arduino to Stellaris.

BUT, the peripherals are where all of the variability between manufacturers happens, so I would plan to read both sets of processor manuals (for the peripherals) to understand the differences.
