   Are you interested in winning a free STM32F4DISCOVERY kit?
   The kit is made by STMicroelectronics and contains their new STMF4 microcontroller with a Cortex-M4 core with FPU and better performance.

   If you are going around with a good idea for an electronics project with some kind of microprocessor then write the idea to us - the category/theme doesn't matter!
   We will then select the best idea and idea owner will get a free kit. In the meanwhile we will try to complete the project and upload details, pictures and source codes.

   Say there is postage and packing too, maybe $20.

   I'd expect a competent engineer to earn over $200/day, for an 8 hour day.
   So you are offering one chance to win the equivalent of 4/5ths of an hour, or 48 minutes of work!

   Let's say there are 100 ideas, so an entrant has a probability of 1/100th of winning that 4/5ths of an hour.

   It doesn't sound compelling to me, but that is just me.
   It might be okay for someone who can't build their idea.

   Who owns the idea?
   Who owns the results?
   Does the person who proposed the idea get a built product?
   What if the product takes off, what fraction of revenue does the provider of the idea get?

   I did an ad-hoc check last November, and in the UK, experienced freelance hardware engineers charged about £240/day, over $360/day. So I am allowing more than 70% for self-employment expenses. Competent software engineers earn similar salaries, and demonstrably good ones, much more. Competent off-shore software engineers could cost customers $200/day 5 years ago (I was in that business).

   AFAIK, employment statistics indicate there is a shortage of experienced, competent engineers in the UK.
