No, that is a conflict with the FTDI chip and the braille program. Maple does not use the FTDI chip.

Memberthank you I got mine working in linux ubuntu by pumping the reset and hitting the program chip button then stop hitting the reset.
notice some of the examples use some other button than the button on board to work. I modified some in my sketches and it is nice having a led and button to debug my programs.
