I want to make a little gizmo, with no more than a couple of KBytes of specific code. I'd like it to be a USB serial device.
I'd like to squish everything into the lowest-cost 16 kB Flash STM32F103.
Has anyone experience with, or done any experiments to find the smallest practical size for USB serial device code on an STM32F103?

I have looked quite closely at the Serial USB code for the standard Maple.
It is quite minimal as it is presently. You might be able to squeeze a few bytes out
of it, but then it needs careful re-testing, and the current code for sure doesnt use a lot of extra bytes.
I am aware that design choises can always be argued and changed but then the tradeoff
between a tested and an untested solution must also be made.
