Out of curiosity, does anyone know why the 2-row connector changed from 2x9 (18 pin) on Maple r3 to 2x8 (16 pin) on the Maple r5?

If I recall, they split off the I2C2 pins (you have to solder on a header to use them) and also moved the connector to fit 0.1" spacing.

That's right; we wanted to put that header on the 0.1" grid and keep the mounting hole positions. The I2C2 pins are still on the header. The pins that connect to a low speed oscillator are not on the header.

When I was making the protoshield board I just noticed my two Maples were different.
