Howdy,
Some time ago a library command was added to make to create a libmaple.a static library for use in "larger" projects with many source files.
How exactly does one set that up after running make library and compiling the library?
Is there an example Makefile, or a simple example project that uses it?

No examples (I think using https://github.com/mbolivar/example-libmaple-project is easier), but you might try:
1. Running $ make library and linking against the generated build/libmaple.a
2. Adding the following target to the libmaple Makefile:
echo-flags:

@echo "wirish includes: " $(WIRISH_INCLUDES)
@echo "cflags: " $(CFLAGS)
@echo "cxxflags: " $(CXXFLAGS)Which on my system gives:

cxxflags: -fno-rtti -fno-exceptions -Wall -mcpu=cortex-m3 -march=armv7-m -mthumb -DBOARD_maple -DMCU_STM32F103RB -DERROR_LED_PORT=GPIOA -DERROR_LED_PIN=5 -DVECT_TAB_FLASH -I/home/mbolivar/leaf/libmaple/libmaple/include/libmaple -I/home/mbolivar/leaf/libmaple/wirish/include/wirish -I/home/mbolivar/leaf/libmaple/librariesYou may try adding those to your project build's flags. Note that I haven't tested the above, but something like it will probably work.

The example libmaple project is exactly what I was hoping to get! Thanks.
I love the fact that it supports libraries that are compatible with libraries in the libmaple libraries folder, and how the entire project itself is compiled as a library. Very nifty.
I'll be sure to give it a try when I get home.
If you want to create your own customer directory of libraries, you can simply modify the Makefile:
# Custom modules listed here.
USER_MODULES := $(BASEDIR)/libfooand replace $(BASEDIR) to some other environment variable that points to your custom directory?
I've gotten to the point where I have a handful of libraries that I want to include in all of my Maple projects, without having to copy+paste them between folders and having out-of-date versions.
This example will really help a lot.

mbolivar doesn't like them (</troll>) but you could also try using git submodules to include (version controlled) library dependencies:
