We're probably going to ditch WordPress for the leaflabs.com website and blog in favor of something simpler and more reliable. The forums won't change any time soon, though we are open to suggestions or requests.

Currently everybody can comment both on blog posts and here in the forums, which I for one find redundant. I'd like to simply link from blog posts to discussion threads here in the forums; would this ruffle any feathers? Disqus comments is another option but would be yet-another-account and medium to keep up with.

1. So are you saying that LeafLabs are planning to kill-off these forums, just not as quickly as website and blogs?
Will there be an easy way (for those who want to) to get a copy of the contents of these threads?

Forums seem to work better than comments to blogs for me.
We've seen two blog posts from LeafLabs in the last 6 months, so their isn't much to come to read. The forum is more active, so I prefer to see comments to blogs in forums. Some sites create a thread for every blog post 'automatically' which makes it even easier. Is that the intent?

A link to a forum thread I believe would be acceptable. Other may have a different opinion though.

EDIT: gbulmer, I believe he's saying if there needs to be any changes to the forums, not if they're going to get rid of them.

Are you an employee of LeafLabs? Can you make that commitment for the company?

What are the plans for the docs & wiki? Will they both continue on in some other technology, or will they be merged into a wiki?

One interpretation is "we don't have short term plans to make changes, however we may have long terms plans, also we are open to making changes sooner rather than later"

I am fine with bnewbold's answer because I believe his response does represent LeafLabs.
