Porting Library from Arduino (MCP2515)

Hello all,

I would like to get the MCP2515 working with the Maple. I have it working perfectly for the Arudino, but i'd like to upgrade the design to the maple for more speed. Basically I want to use the same library and code, and from what I see, the SPI commands are not quite the same. I will post the code here. http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1289195675 The code is about half way down the page. How easy would it be to get that working on the Maple?

Do all I have to do is change the SPI.transfer(x) to HardwareSPI.transfer? I'm it's giving me the most errors in the .cpp file. About 3/4 of the way down is where the SPI commands are giving me trouble.

Anyone? How do I tell it to use SPI 2 in both the library and the setup? Do I have to define HardwareSPI spi(2); in both places? Also, Do I where do I define spi.begin(SPI_9MHZ, MSBFIRST, 0);

You could define HardwareSPI spi(2) in both places, or you can pass a pointer to a HardwareSPI instance and use that instead!

If I put all the spi init stuff in the library, I can get it to compile, but I can't not get data from the can chip. That then leaves no references to SPI within the program itself, but rather just functions to the library to do the spi transfer.
Can I define HardwareSPI spi(2) and spi.begin(SPI_9MHZ, MSBFIRST, 0); both in the library?
