Maple Libraries and Arduino Compatibility

I'm currently using a Arduino Uno for one of my projects and just need more speed and power... I'm writing a 13K file to an SD card and it's taking about 20 seconds, I would really like it to be 5 seconds or less. Anyway, I have been eying the maple for some time now but the lack of libraries has been the road block. I'm starting to doubt if the web page is being updated so I'd figure I'll ask my questions here.

For this project I would need a Wire, SD and RTC library. But I would like to ask in general, how are the libs and the compatibility testing for existing arduino libraries and shields coming along? Is there a web page that gets updated with this information or is it all in the forums?

I have an olimexino and just found an sd library that works.

Since my board has the rtc crystal I might get started writing some code to use that. If you google maple SD Fat you'll find the libs.

^^^ is this a knockoff maple? I'm kinda confused whats actually going on when I read the documentation. They talk about Arduino and Maple but don't really mention Olimexino. lol.

Olimexino is an "Arduino-like" STM32 board made by olimex. They use LeafLab's IDE/libmaple for the software side of things. Completely irrelevant to discussion related to LeafLab's Maple and Arduino Library support.

Most shields will work out-of-the-box. They may require modifications to the library, particularly if they use Serial or SPI communication. If the shield only uses digital/analog pins then it won't have any compatibility issues*. Keep in mind that using an Arduino shield will mean you lose access to a dozen or so I/O that are unique to the Maple, including header access to some of the peripherals (SPI, USART, etc.).

The docs have a small compatibility list, though it's not being updated or kept up-to-date. The wiki and forums have various pages too.

The SDFat library has been ported to libmaple previously and works just fine. There is some kind of software wire support, I believe. There is no current libmaple support for the built-in RTC on the STM32. If you're using an external SPI/Serial RTC chip, it'll most likely work just fine with a few minor tweaks to the library.

In that vain, I highly recommend anyone using a library (or writing one) successfully that is not listed on the wiki to please add it to the list!

we were having spam problems with the wiki that was making it hard to gain a lot of traction there. But people kept using it and finally we realized (perhaps obvious) that the best captcha was the one no one else is using, despite being stupid. As of last month we have been remarkably spam free. Personally I miss the Azira cats captcha, too bad when that broke. ReCaptcha offered no protection at all.
