Problem with ARM compiler linux

Hi Guys,

I am brand new to the Maple and excited as it looks like a great piece of kit.

I have not been able to get a classic hello world to work though due to some issues with the IDE

I am using Ubuntu 11 and get the following message when trying to compile code

Cannot run program "home/x/Maple/maple-ide-v0.0.12/hardware/tools/arm/bin/arm-none-eabi-gcc" File not found

I find this strange as the file is in the directory and file has read write execute permissions.

Does anyone have any ideas what the issue could be??

Are you running 64-bit Ubuntu?

try:

sudo apt-get install ia32-libs

Hi Perry,

Yes 64 bit, I realise now that I was missing some 32 bit libraries that I though were only for AMD CPU's

Thanks for your help, I managed to get this working last night.

Off to start hacking about with sdFat :)

I just ran into the ia32-libs thing. I'm on 64-bit Ubuntu running in a VirtualBox on a Macbook. I'd like to suggest to the Leaflabs guys that as 64-bit hardware becomes more common, a note about "sudo apt-get install ia32-libs" might be added to the "Test compilation" section of the "Unix Toolchain Quickstart" page.
