64 bit linux ubuntu running maple ide usb port com port disapears after uploading flash blinky with delay. Now I hit reset I get the fast then a slow blink then it stops blinking the defalt shows led is on pin 13 could the board be blinking a different pin or something and since my board does not do anything with the serial port is why that does not apear?
So maby usb init should be common to all programs just so that doen't disaper if that is why.

USB init is common to all sketches uploaded from within the IDE. However, the usb init routine will not run until AFTER the bootloader has exited. Often times, if you reset the board and then immediately try and open the serial port, Maple will still be in bootloader mode (about 4 seconds after reset) and no serial port will exist. By trying to open the non existent serial port, some OS's (especially linux), will either fail to enumerate the serial port properly or open it on a different device handle than usual (such as /dev/ttyACM1 instead of /dev/ttyACM0).
Try power cycling your board, then waiting for 10 seconds. Then check for the COM port.
The quick blinks followed by the slow blinks indicate the bootloader is currently active, and has not yet jumped to your user code and run USB init. All blinking is connected to pin 13.

thanks humm so that might be why the askiee table script doen't apear to run correctly but the hello world one does.
Also linux seems to toggle virtual com port ... 1 and vcp ... 2.
I am using ubuntu and removed brltty because it caused problems with the other arduino and if I pump the reset near when I hit program then relesase the code useualy goes in ok with one set of red saying ... going to the mode it is in when the reset is pressed.
