Hello,

Here is my work in progress synth

How it looks :

How it sounds :

(played quickly live... output audio quality has to be improved).

4 FM voices (3 operators with envelope for each) + 4 LFOS + 4 rows modulation matrix....
All editable from the 4 encoders and 5 buttons and LCD.
Playable through midi keyboard: modwheel, pitchbend and aftertouch...

Requires all the power of the Maple :-)

Yes, it's an open source/open hardware project...
Well... Not yet "open" because not yet published but i already have the GPL header at the top of each file ;-)
I just discovered Github and this where i'll go.

Now i can say it's open source :-)

It also has a name.

Today i had an idea for optimization : why not using a sample rate 32768Hz for faster division at many places... It worked.
Can now handle 5 voices (5 different notes a the same time) and a 6 rows modulation matrix.

I also fixed the 'pop/tick' you can hear at the begining of many notes in the MP3.

I know that if i want other people to try it, i have to make a clean hardware manual.
That's on my todo list.

Very cool, I like the old-timey-ethereal-almost-breaking-into-dubstep feel. ;)

The audio samples on the preenfm.net page don't seem to work on Safari/Mac 5.0.5? They show up and appear to play, but no sound comes out.

My maple mini is now plugged in my PCB :-)
The current version of the PCB has some problems, which is why you can see some wires.
Also, I didn't realize that was so dusty before taking the pictures.

Very nice! I see there is a USB port on the main board, are you forwarding that connection through to mini via pins 23/24 or is it for something else?

I use the USB port only to power up the board, i'm paranoid with all noise that could be added to the sound. I noticed USB - and + could add some.

Can and will. SerialUSB.end() for soundwork (unless you have a digital codec chip somewhere) ;)
