Also make sure that the LCD is powered by 5V, it can have issues if you don't.

It's also true that the linear voltage regulators can sometimes be the cause of the random rebooting issue, I try to run all of my Maples off 5V which works well, but I have also used a 9.6V rechargeable battery fine but with minimal loading (Barometer and XBee Module with the Maple r3)

I did what you said and the default blink program worked fine. So after slowly going through and adding my code I noticed that when I plugged in the LCD into the system and re-enabled that code that the problem started happening. After reading http://leaflabs.com/docs/hardware/maple.html#power-regulation-on-the-maple I realized that I was drawing too much power from the board and lowed my input voltage down to 5V which seemed to work for now.

Try disconnecting everything from the Maple and upload a simple blink program to flash the board LED, does the problem still occur? Are you loading the program into the flash and have the correct board selected?

Could you upload your code for us to take a look? I doubt the pre-setup code would be affecting the start up time unless modifications were made to the libraries.

What operating system are you using?

Hey all,

I am currently working on a maple rev 5 board with the v0.0.12 IDE. After uploading my code to the board nothing happens except that the status LED stay solid for several seconds before turning off.

I have several outputs over both serial and lcd in the void setup() function call that are not being called. I believe that none of my code is being executed.

After powercycling the board several times, and waiting for a couple of minutes my code starts executing.

Any idea why this is happening? Also is there any pre-setup code, (I.E the lcd declaration) that would take a long time to execute?
