haha awesome.

my fix was just for the serial monitor. Looks like you were also having trouble with the compiler. Glad you got it all sorted.

NVM...I got it. I retried prettymuch every suggestion from everybody so I'm not really sure which one fixed it and what I'd screwed up last time...but it works now and I'm happy lol

:( Replaced those files. When I hit the verify button I'm still getting the red bar across the bottom that says
"Cannot run program "/home/kyle/Desktop/Maple/maple-ide-0.0.9/hardware/tools/arm/bin/arm-none-eabi-gcc": java.io.IOException: error=2, No such file or directory"

Great, it appears to work spot on. It opened, and seems to compile. I don't have a maple yet, so I can't test future, however at a quick glance, it seems to be working the breeze. Thanks.

I may have a fix for you!

it looks like the problem is librxtx.so, it looks like librxtx is definitely a known failure issue on ubuntu 64: http://mango.serotoninsoftware.com/forum/posts/list/617.page

however, it looks like someone has built the appropriate version: http://www.cloudhopper.com/opensource/rxtx/

I cant test it out right now since I dont have the right vm/machine, but if it works we will roll the 64bit bins into a future release. Please let me know if this works for you!

For your convenience, I posted the bins here: http://static.leaflabs.com/pub/librxtx/

To install them:
1) select your system (linux64, windows64, windows ia64) from the above link
2) download librxtxSerial.so and RXTXcomm.jar
4) copy those two files into: maple-ide-YOUR_VERSION/lib/ this will replace the versions of those files that are already located in that directory!

I'm seeing similar issues. I have followed the Linux install instructions, which has me use http://static.leaflabs.com/pub/leaflabs/maple-ide/maple-ide-0.0.12-linux32.tgz. When I open it, I'm asked to choose a folder, which I choose, then the dialog goes away, and that's it. Nothing else appears graphically. When run from a command prompt, this is what I get.

KJJohnson_05:

Which distro are you running? I believe the Linux package is compiled for 32-bit only.

You can run 32-bit binaries by installing the appropriate 32-bit libraries.
If you are running ubuntu, you can apt-get 'ia32-libs.' Other distributions
will have a similar package.

Any update on the 64 bit problems? I've seen the forum posts with "Workarounds" but it's all gibberish to me. I'd really like to be able to use this Maple without buying a 32 bit computer...I'm about to just give up :(

I'm using maple-ide-0.0.9-linuxx64.tgz because it's the only one I've been able to get to actually start the IDE. I don't know if that's correct because I'm new to linux. I'm certain I have a x64 system...but I switched to linux because my other system is Vista and there were unsigned driver issues. Linux seems to work for me other than when I try to Verify the blink example code I get an error in the lower part of the IDE that says

"Cannot run program "/home/kyle/Desktop/Maple/maple-ide-0.0.9/hardware/tools/arm/bin/arm-none-eabi-gcc": java.io.IOException: error=2, No such file or directory"

I'm very confused :S

I've followed the path and seen the file. It's there. I'm too new to linux to know if i'm just missing something simple lol. Also, even more confusing, even after the error I tried to upload and it still shows the error but it seems my Maple got the code anyway because it's blinking now. But I can't get it to do it again with different values in the delay cycle of the LED.

Anybody know what I did wrong?
