I would be intrested in eagle files for such a shield
guess have to make it myselve.
Also would be interested in eagle files for a protoshield for the Maple Native (as soon as it is available)

Hey Adam,

Any progress on these prototype shields? I was doing some work with my Maple last night and recalled this project. It'll be really nice to have some of these =].

Somebody was asking about Maple protoshields today and I recalled this project -- Adam, did you ever get the protos back? I'd love to hear how they turned out.

Awesome. I always use perf board and populate the 10" spaced supplemental headers on Maple. This is better!

Ok, I broke down and made a new MA02-2 two row connector that looks square to match the Maple. I also verified all the mechanical dimensions of the board, and updated the labels to match the Maple r5 board.

Here's an image:

http://imgur.com/3tnK8.png

I also pushed these changes to GitHub, available at the links above.

I sent this to Laen today, so we will see how these come out!

The MA08-2 two-row connector is from the con-lstb.lbr Eagle library. The one on the protoshield board looks different from the one on the Maple board - the Maple one is square, with no pin labels. The one on the protoshield board has a pin 1 and pin 16 label, and has indentations on it.

Protoshield MA08-2 connector:
http://imgur.com/MIqVK.png

Maple MA08-2 connector
http://i.imgur.com/Uo9pU.png

I would like the protoshield connector to look like the Maple connector so I can label all the pins correctly... does anyone know what the difference between the two connectors is? Or where to find an MA08-2 that is square with no labels? Alternatively, I would be ok with just being able to remove the pin labels from the MA08-2, but I could not figure out how to do that without editing the component library, which I would rather not do.

I tried inspecting the components, but Eagle says they are the same.

I am using Eagle 5.10.0 Light if that matters.

It's a little larger than the Maple board in order to accommodate a self-adhesive mini-breadboard like this one:

Folks,

I am designing a prototype shield specifically for Maple, based on the SparkFun Arduino protoshield:

http://www.sparkfun.com/products/7914

I like this shield, but it doesn't allow access to the Maple's 2-row connector that has SPI2 and other I/O pins. Here is my initial version of the Maple Protoshield:

https://github.com/adamfeuer/hardware/tree/master/maple-protoshield

Here's an image of the board from Eagle:

http://imgur.com/vXGEt

Yeah, I used Eagle instead of KiCad since I started from the SparkFun Protoshield Eagle files.

What do you think? Will you help me improve it? If I made up a few of these would anyone be interested in them?
