stm32f103ZE on maple native. Well post some benchmarks and some results of hardware tests once we have them.

Have you tried putting a High-Density STM32F, specifically to use the DAC's, on the Maple board?
That would be good enough for us to try for a while.

The stm32f103 we use does NOT have a DAC. Low passing a pwm channel is great solution for almost everything, since you can run the PWM REALLY fast...up to MHZ if youre willing to eat the resolution. If memory serves, you can run 44KHz PWM with 10 bits of resolution, which is OK for audio.

Maple native will ALMOST certainly use a larger stm32, with 2 DAC channels. Well be posting details on Maple Native VERY shortly, as we plan to get that to fab in the next 10 days or so.

> Is the DAC (not PWM) possible on this microprocessor, or are there any plans on possibily using one that can? Would it be possible to swap the microprocessor? Are there downsides in doing that?

The processor on the Maple board does not have a DAC. You would have to use an external converter, either a DAC chip or an R2R network. I don't know if you could swap in a different STM32 processor.

New registered user here, but I have been following the progress for a while.

I didn't see any faqs or the question wasn't asked before.

The Maple is based on the STM32F103RB microprocessor. There are a lot of very useful possibilities with it. However, I haven't found if the DAC (digital to analog) is possible with it. It seems to be possible on the STM32F103RET6 I saw on another board layout elsewhere.

Is the DAC (not PWM) possible on this microprocessor, or are there any plans on possibily using one that can? Would it be possible to swap the microprocessor? Are there downsides in doing that?

Thanks
