A fully charged LiPo cell is 4.2V however the nominal voltage of the cell is 3.7V. The LiPo charging IC can only handle a single cell and it would not be recommended to use a 7.4V pack as this will damage the IC most likely, using it on the EXT connector should be ok though.

The charger being used is the BQ24010.

Datasheet says it charges at a rate of 4.2V, so no... probably won't work with a7.2v battery or it'll charge really slowly. Not entirely sure. It's also designed for single cell batteries FYI.

Can the lipo charger handle any voltage? I have a 7.2v lipo battery, 800mah. Not sure if it is a 3 or 4 cell but I'm sure it would be one or the other. I don't want to damage or explode my battery so best to be certain before I go plugging anything in.
