Other serial interface programs can do logging though. When it is in perpetual bootloader mode, can you go to the Device Manager and see if it comes up with the device? I have used it on both xp and win 7. First I reset the board LED start flashing fast and then a few times slow before stopping. When I am in perpetual bootloader mode, LED is continuosly blinking. System detects it when it is in perpetual bootloader mode.
