Well I actually posted a comment there a month ago, and it is still 'awaiting moderation', so who knows what's happening over there.

Please forgive me if this is OT:

I filled out the form to register for downloads at the Xduino website two days ago, but I haven't gotten any response, to date. Has anybody here gotten a response from the Xduino team?

Hmm,

I had looked at this, apparently too briefly, and had gotten the impression that Xduino wasn't open source (that you had to buy a board to get the software.) I now see that it's open source, so I'll give it a try.

BTW, I already have a couple of those boards, ordered from futurlec -- slow delivery, but hard to beat the price. Those boards came without a toolchain, but CodeSourcery binaries have worked for me. Some details about getting these boards to talk are in my blog, http://repstrap-cerberus.blogspot.com/2009/05/bringing-up-baby-new-to-me-cortex-m3.html One minor nit is that these boards come with an RS-232 interface (at RS232 levels), which is a slight hassle for working with my laptop. A USB serial converter came in handy for that.

A more integrated env, and more working code is always a nice thing.
I've requested the Xduino download link; fingers crossed.

-- Larry

I have not tried it, but I check the source code periodically, as he has been making updates fairly often. He has also built his own editor which is nice. There was need for an Arm-duino, or a port of arduino that targets different cores than just Avr, which is the need xduino seems to be trying to fill. While we have essentially done the same thing at leaflabs, our project launched from a different tack. Namely, we're trying to extend the sketch-based physical computing idea to heftier hardware in general. Specifically, we want get FPGA's involved. However, we did Maple and the arduino-port to get our feet wet and make the stm32 available to the wider audience that is the arduino community. Were working on a new editor (out circa jan) that revolves around simulation and FPGA development, which will become the principle Maple editor as well. For now, weve just hacked a few changes into arduino to call our Make-based build environment.

I know this is an odd place to post this discussion, but in the spirit of open source I feel it's okay.

So there is another mob called Xduino(http://www.xduino.com/hardware/) which are doing almost the exact same thing as LeafLabs, except they are using the ETT stamp and not bothering with their own hardware.

Has anyone tried Xduino? What do you all think of it verses Maple?
