You need an ARM gcc toolchain (the IDE has one included at ./maple-ide-v0.0.12/hardware/tools/arm) and the binary folder (./maple-ide-v0.0.12/hardware/tools/arm/bin) must be in your PATH, then building the bootloader is as simple as typing 'make' (if you have the make program).

If you're on windows, this may be of interest to you: http://static.leaflabs.com/pub/leaflabs/maple-docs/snapshots/2012-09-04/unix-toolchain-win-setup.html

here the prebuilt version: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46882396/maple_boot_olimex_stm32_h103.bin

Of course :) ; Ventosus, thanks for clearing that up.

How about the errors at dfu-util time?

Thanks & pardon the confusion!

Ah, I think there is a misunderstanding...

I thought you were talking about this board here:
https://www.olimex.com/Products/ARM/ST/STM32-H103/
-> that's what the 'olimex-stm32-h103' build target is for
-> and it has no DFU bootloader (that's why I asked)

But I have the feeling that you actually are talking about this here:
https://www.olimex.com/Products/Duino/STM32/OLIMEXINO-STM32/
-> this one is a maple clone and should work with the standard 'maple' build target, iirc

So it makes only sense that your sketch works only with the 'maple' target.

Ventosus, curiously enough the olimex-referenced documentation I've read had only mention of the 'maple' target. Of course seeing an olimex-stm32-h103 target in the CLI development environment from master, I intended on using it.

As for the bootload, I'm not sure specifically, but you may try and enlighten me given : I had first loaded a simple program after downloading Win32 0.12 MapleIDE distro, and sbusequently have been using the CLI on my Mac with boath BOARD variants and the dfu-util.

Do I need to update my bootload to match the libmaple I'm running from master?

Thanks for you suggestions, I will contact olimex_stm32_h103 contributor before digging in myself.

Mike

You should definitely use the olimex_stm32_h103 target, as the pin maps of the two boards are quite differing.
I don't have one of those boards, but I'd recommend to double-check the pin maps in the board specific files, olimex may have changed something during their revisions, that did not get updated.
(there's also a mail address of the original author of the board's support in libmaple that you may want to contact).

libmaple/wirish/boards/olimex_stm32_h103/board.cpp
libmaple/wirish/boards/olimex_stm32_h103/include/board/board.h

p.s. you state that you upload your programs with dfu, so you have put a bootloader on there? which one?

Hello folks, firstly: Mike here from Ottawa. I find this is a wonderful project, can't quite put my finger on why I've chosen it over Arduino, but here I am.

I'm got a olimexino stm32-h103 board, rev C, and wonder what the status of the BOARD=olimex-stm32-h103 is in master. I ask as it doesn't seem like the example 'blinkly' main.cpp work when I've set the BOARD=olimex-stm32-h103. When in default BOARD=maple, the example works fine*, light blinks, additional SerialUSB.prinln("blink!") prints in my 'screen' session.

* re above, it works fine with the exception of the usb-serial initiated flash. There are two offending messages, one at the beginning, after the dfu-util command:
...
Could not find the Maple serial port for reset. Perhaps this is your first upload, or the board is already in bootloader mode.
...
and the other at the end, after a successful flash:
error resetting after download: usb_reset(ResetDevice): unknown error

(I get the above warnings in both BOARD settings)

... but, the main question is, should I be using 'olimex_stm32_h103' (which doesn't seem to work in current master) or simply 'maple'??
