This thread is mainly a request to LeafLabs staff.

Going back to the USB port problems and shortcomings, I wish to ask LeafLabs to modify the bootloader to enable program loading using the IDE (or other) also via Serial1.

I looked into the bootloader sources, and I believe this should not be too hard to achieve for knowledgeable people. (may require DTR / reset line modification?)

There are two reasons to my request:
1. The USB port is most unstable and unreliable (as witnessed in this form by many).
2. Our Maple(s) are located remotely and we therefore need the means to remotely upgrade programs via serial network, which is currently not possible.
Thanks
