We recently got a direct email about this. It looks as though the Doc's lack a maple mini flashing components, and the static.leaflabs.com/pub/leaflabs doesnt have a maple mini bootloader. oops. Being rectified.

There's a setup guide for installing a bootloader in the docs. There is also a guide on setting up the unix toolchain, which is used for compiling. If you're a windows user, leaflabs has a mirror for the windows codesourcery binaries, or if you have the windows MapleIDE installed you can "steal" its binaries.

The Maple Mini bootloader is located in the mini-boot branch of the Maple Bootloader repository on github. You'll have to compile it yourself.
