Hi everyone,

i'm having same problem here. I can upload a program, run it perfectly, but Serial Port menu is grayed out.

System:
- Win 7 x64 Ultimate
- Maple IDE v0.0.12

When running a compiled program, Maple Mini appears as "Maple" under "libusb-win32 devices". I'm sorry to bother whit this known issue, I've searched the whole forum before asking but I can't solve it!!

n-user, sorry to hear of your troubles. Windows 7 64 has some sticky specifics, that keep us from supporting it yet officially. However, you should be able to get everything working!

First off, you say that you are uploading succesfully and running programs, great! Did you have to use perpetual bootloader mode to get it working? For example, if you program blinky - and get Maple blinking - then hit upload again (without touching the board) does it fail? If not than the serial drivers ARE installed, since they are used to initiate (but not complete) the upload operation.

If you need to hit reset, or use perpetual bootloader mode to program, than likely you are just missing the serial drivers. Plug in maple and upload some code (blinky), make sure the code is running. Now go to the device menu, and you should see some uninstalled USB device, maple virtual COM. Point that device to the mapleDrv/maple_serial directory to install the serial drivers.

I am surprised to hear that the DFU drivers uploaded automagically, I wonder if windows is shipping with that now....

Please run those experiments and get back to us, well get you going!

Hello,

I just plugged in my new board, and went through all the steps to install drivers. I'm running windows 7 64bit, and I had a few problems since I was never prompted to do anything. I got things mostly working from the information found here: http://forums.leaflabs.com/topic.php?id=73

At the moment I can upload to my board, and it will run programs; I just cannot communicate with it via the built in serial monitor. I never got prompted to install any drivers, and I don't know how to do it manually. Is there any information on how I could do this?

More information:
The 'Serial Port' option is greyed out in the IDE, it doesn't even try to find anything.

The board shows up in the device manager under 'libusb-win32 devices'. Is this right? Also, I'm on 64bit, is it supposed to say 'win32'?
